Welcome to the User's Guide for the Intel® 10 Gigabit Server Adapters. This guide covers hardware and software installation, setup procedures, and troubleshooting tips for all Intel 10 Gigabit server adapters. 

NOTE: This guide refers only to drivers and features available on IA-32-based computer platforms and platforms based on the Intel® 64 Architecture. These drivers are not compatible with Itanium®-based computers.

Installing the Network Adapter

If you are installing a network adapter, follow this procedure. 
If you are upgrading the driver software, start with step 6.

NOTE: Intel 10 Gigabit Server Adapters do not support unattended driver installation.
  1. Make sure that the driver software on the Intel CD supports the adapter you are installing. 

  2. Review system requirements here.

  3. Follow the installation procedure for fiber-based adapters or copper-based adapters.

  4. Carefully attach the network cable(s).

  5. After the network adapter is in the computer, install the network driver.

  6. For Windows systems, install the Intel® PROSet software.

  7. Test the network adapter. For more information, select Test the Adapter in the table of contents.

If you have any problems with basic installation, see Troubleshooting. Once you have installed the network adapter(s), you can set other advanced features. The available features and the configuration process varies with the adapter and your operating system.
