System Requirements: Itanium^®-based Computers

Before installing the Intel® 10GbE Server Adapter, check your system for the following minimum configuration requirements.

Hardware Compatibility

• Itanium®-based computer
• The latest BIOS for your system
• One of the following slot types, depending on your adapter:
  • PCI-X slot (v1.0a compliant), 3.3v PCI-X signaling, operating at 66, 100 or 133 MHz
  • PCI bus master slot (v2.3 compliant), 3.3v PCI signaling, 32- or 64-bit, operating at 33 or 66 MHz
  • One open PCI-Express slot (v1.0a or newer), 8x or 16x.

Supported 64-bit Operating Systems

The Intel drivers for Itanium-based systems operate with the following operating systems:

• Microsoft Windows* Server 2003, 64-Bit Edition (Enterprise Server or Datacenter Server versions), with latest service pack installed
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-based Systems, with the latest service pack installed
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, with latest service pack installed
• Linux, v2.x kernel and higher, except v2.6
