Firmware 1.52 ¡V Release Notes. 1. Add 1MB stripe size 2. Add Disk cloning function 3. Support up to 256 devices (192 devices only for ARC-1880ixl series) 4. Combine Legacy BIOS & EFI/UEFI BIOS into a single BIOS and provide BIOS option. 5. Allow disk firmware with size >2MB to be updated to disks via Areca GUI. For Controllers with any firmware versions before 1.52, (1) Update to firmware 1.52 and other files except 1.52 BIOS, and then reboot (2) Update BIOS 1.52 ( that is because firmware prior to 1.52 won¡¦t recognize BIOS 1.52), then reboot. 1.52 BIOS ¡V What is New? It combines the ¡§Legacy BIOS¡¨ and ¡§UEFI BIOS¡¨ and ¡§EFI BIOS¡¨ into a single BIOS, and provide BIOS option in the GUI. In the old days, Areca provided separate BIOS files for each, and need to manually flesh it in. Now fleshing BIOS for different BIOS type is no longer needed, just make the BIOS selection in System Controls „³ Advance Configuration: BIOS Option BIOS Option - Legacy ==> for motherboards that are using regular BIOS boot. [Warning] Roaming the stripe size 256K/512K/1024k Raid Set to firmware version older than 1.52 will cause data corruption. Corruption happen only if you roam a raidset with new added stripe size to another card which has older firmware without new stripe size support.
