Based on firmware version 1.66,  

ARCxxxxUEFI.BIN code can launch the Areca McBIOS setup utility 

when Motherboard BIOS set to UEFI without Legacy BIOS support.

When user chooses to boot from the virtual disk created by Areca firmware in Motherboard Bios setup,

the McBIOS setup utility is launched through boot into Areca UEFI OS 

during Motherboard POST. 


Firmware Update Procedure from older version to 1.66 or later :

Step-1: Update all files in the firmware package except ARCxxxxUEFI.BIN, no special update order needed. 

Step-2: Reboot once to activate new firmware.

Step-3: Update the ARCxxxxUEFI.BIN code.

NOTE:
1. The ARCxxxxUEFI.BIN code incorporates an EFI shell and a small piece of executable codes developed by Areca. 
2. The ARCxxxxBIOS.BIN also supports UEFI Secured Boot.
